Recipes from DeeDee's Kitchen

Pull up a chair. Every recipe on this page started the same way, in somebody's kitchen, with the stove already warm and a story already being told. Some of these dishes came straight from my Momma Nancy, passed down like a cast-iron skillet from her hands to mine. Others I picked up along the way, in Napa, in New Orleans, in Jamaica, wherever my spirit said yes.

These are not just recipes. They are the soul of my table, written down so you can bring a little of it to yours. Pour yourself a glass, and let's cook something worth remembering.

With love from my kitchen to yours, DeeDee

Appetizers

Fried Green Tomatoes

Crisp on the outside, tart and tender in the middle, this is Southern hospitality on a plate. I like to serve mine with a spicy remoulade and a nice glass of something bubbly.

Red Wine Braised Short Ribs

Falling off the bone, deep and velvety, with whispers of dark cherry and cedar from the wine it braised in. Pour yourself a glass of the same bottle you cooked with, that is my rule and I do not break it.
