Papa's Pound Cake

 

 


Ingredients: 
  • 3 cups of sifted cake flour
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 8 oz. sour cream, room temperature
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 sticks butter, room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • 1 tsp sauternes (optional)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • Extra butter or Crisco to coat cake pan

 

Instructions: 

1.    Preheat oven to 350°F.  

2.    In a large bowl mix together eggs, sugar, butter, and sour cream until smooth.

3.    Slowly add in cake flour, baking powder, salt, and extracts.

4.    Coat a Bundt pan with butter or Crisco.

5.    Add the pound cake mixture to the greased Bundt pan.

6.    Bake for 1 hour.

7.    Bake at 350°F for 1 hour.  Allow to cool, remove from pan, and Enjoy!
